I recently found my love for photography. So decided to take the plunge with both feet and acquire my very first SLR, Canon 450D with Kit Lens. With alot of research and self studying i'm slowly but surely Learning the ins and outs about photography. This blog is my attempt to track my progress through my new and exciting photographic journey.
The most recent event that inspired my that this is the right path for me was an unexpected email from the South African O mag Breathing space website to inform me that a photo I submitted to them won the June '09 photo of the month. Though I submitted 3...
I'm not totally sure which one won the prize so I'm waiting in anticipation for the call to find out which on. This is really such an honour to have received this accolade.
Nature is my inspiration. I love taking Landscape photos... It gives me a sense of inner peace. I knew I choose the right genre ( for the lack of a better word) when i stood on the Lindos Acropolis on the Rhodos island in Greece. photographing the view and feeling this calmness wash over me. A calmness i have never felt before.
People is telling me that there is no money in landscape photography only in portraits and weddings... but I do not care. this is my passion and i'll develop it no matter what.
I'm not close to being a professional photographer and right now i do it for the love more than the money. If i dont get a single cent for my work, its OK. The personal satisfaction i get from this cannot compare to any kind of monetary value. I am content.
